Tynemouth Scouts need your help!

Have you got what it takes to help at any of the youth section’s?

FACT: You don’t need any previous experience.

FACT: You don’t have to become a full time leader

FACT: You can give as little or as much time as you can spare.

How you can help!!

We always need the help of people who have a skill they could teach our sections.

Firefighter?
Could you teach us some fire safety?

Fisherman?
We always need help teaching knots.

Good with computers?
Help us test the youth sections with for their IT badge.

Good at model making?
Why not help us at a craft night?

There are lots of everyday things that our sections need to learn.

Help us by becoming a skills instructor, badge examiner, or member of the Scout Active Support Unit.

You don’t need to commit to going along to a meeting every week.

If you can spare a bit more time then why not help a bit more permanently in one of the sections as an adult leader. Here's what they do:

Assistant Beaver Scout Leader

Work as part of a team to help run the weekly meetings for the youngest of our youth section’s. The age range for the members is 6 to 8 year olds and the activities include a lot of crafts and games.

Assistant Cub Scout Leader

Work as part of a team to help run the weekly meetings and camp’s for the Cub Scouts. The age range for the members is 8 to 10½ year olds. The activities are a bit more complicated and are aimed at getting the young people ready to move up to Scouts.

Assistant Scout Leader

Work as part of a team to help run the weekly meetings and camp’s for the Scouts. The age range for the members is 10½ to 14 year olds, and their activities reflect the age range. They include map and compass work, first aid training, sports and camping

Assistant Explorer Scout Leader

Work as part of a team to help run the weekly meetings and camp’s for the Explorer Scouts. The age range for the members is 14 to 18 year olds. The activities for this section are a bit more adventurous and include things like rock climbing and sailing.

Don't want to be a leader or can't guarantee the time each week? You can still help

Executive Committees

All of our Group’s need the back up of a good administration team. If you are able to offer some help as a secretary or treasurer, please get in touch.

ALL adults involved in Scouting MUST be CRB checked.
We will do this for you before you start to help us.

You will also be given any training that is needed, should you decide to help more regularly.

Tynemouth Scouts need your help!

Remember, you can help us with as big or as small a commitment as you can manage.
