Don was appointed as Co-District President in July 2018. Don has been Scouting since 1956 and has made a huge difference to Scouting locally and nationally. Don started in the Scout Section as an Assistant Scout Leader before taking on the role of Scout Leader in 1959. Don was with the Scout Section for 10 years. Don then became a member of the District Scout Active Support Unit. In 1981, Don became District Treasurer for Tynemouth Scouts for a year before becoming an Assistant District Commissioner for 3 years. Northumberland County quickly saw the talent Don was showing and was appointed as an Assistant County Commissioner for two years before being made District Commissioner for Tynemouth Scouts where he lead for 7 years. Don remained very active and was appointed as County Chairman then County Safety Coordinator. Don Charlton was highly regarded within Scouting and was made County Vice-President for Northumberland Scouts before taking on the role of District Chairman for Tynemouth Scouts for 7 years. Don then became District Vice-President before becoming Co-President in 2018. Don currently is a member of the District Scout Active Support Unit and the District Awards Board.

Austin was made Co-District President in July 2018. Austin started Scouting in 1956 as a Section Leader in Scouts before moving to be District Communications Manager in 1967. Austin was then made Group Scout Leader for 2 years. Austin returned to his Scout Section as Assistant Scout Leader before being appointed as a Assistant District Commissioner until 1991. Austin is a Camp Warden for the District site, Powburn Scout Adventure Centre. Austin has had roles as District Chairman, District Vice-President and District Administrator. Austin is now District President, a member of the District Awards Board and a Scout Active Support Member.
