The centre
Built as the Jubilee Memorial Hall for the village of Powburn, the building was bought by Tynemouth Scouts in 1974 and developed into an outdoor centre. Inside there’s a main hall, bunk rooms, a leaders’ room and a fully fitted kitchen with a serving hatch; outside, a campfire circle and an adventure area.

- A non-refundable deposit of £50 per night, paid within 28 days of booking, confirms your dates. Unpaid bookings are released.
- A late cancellation fee of £50 per night applies within 28 days of your stay if we can’t re-book the centre.
- Weekday catering is available for schools and youth groups (not at weekends).
Getting there
The centre is on the A697, about three-quarters of a mile north of Powburn village and roughly 40 miles north of Newcastle. If you pass the left turn for Ingram, you’ve gone too far. Postcode for sat-navs: NE66 4HU.
