You don’t need a uniform to start
Come along in comfy clothes for your first few weeks. Once your child has settled in, they’ll want a uniform to show off their badges.
What’s in the uniform?
A uniform top (sweatshirt, polo or shirt) in your section’s colour, and a necker in your group’s colours. Your group gives you the necker. You can buy everything else from Scout Store, and lots of groups have good second-hand uniform too. Just ask.
How much does Scouts cost?
Each group charges subs to cover hall hire, insurance and activity materials. Camps, trips and special events cost extra, and you’ll always know the price up front. Your group leader can tell you their subs.
Help with costs
We never want money to stop a young person joining Scouts. If you need help with subs, uniform or camp fees, talk to your leader in confidence or contact us. Tynemouth Scouts has a hardship fund for young people and volunteers.
