Scouts is for everyone aged 4 to 25. Young people make friends, have adventures and learn skills that stay with them for life.
How joining works
- Fill in the form below. Tell us your child’s age, where you live and which nights suit you.
- A volunteer gets in touch. We’ll match you with a group nearby and let you know when there’s a space.
- Come along and try it. Most groups let new members try a few sessions before they commit.
Some of our groups are busy and have a waiting list. Joining the list doesn’t cost anything, and we’ll keep you updated. If you’d like to help us open more spaces, ask about volunteering. More volunteers means more places for young people.

- Squirrels for ages 4 to 6
- Beavers for ages 6 to 8
- Cubs for ages 8 to 10½
- Scouts for ages 10½ to 14
- Explorers for ages 14 to 18
- Scout Network for ages 18 to 25

What does it cost?
Each group charges a small fee, called subs, to cover things like hall hire, insurance and activity materials. Camps and trips cost extra. If money is tight, tell us. We have a hardship fund and nobody should miss out because of cost. Read more about uniform and costs.
