“The best part of Scouts is definitely the camps.”
Cubs is Scouts for 8 to 10½ year olds
Cubs get outdoors, learn practical skills and take on new challenges with their friends.
A typical Cub meeting is full of games and activities, with as much time outdoors as possible. Cubs might learn to light a fire, read a map, cook a meal or give first aid. They go on camps and trips, which many Cubs will tell you are the best bit.
Each Cub Pack is split into small teams called Sixes. Cubs take turns to lead their Six, so they learn to make decisions, listen and work as a team.
There are Cub Packs right across North Shields, Tynemouth, Meadow Well, Percy Main, Wallsend and Howdon, including our Sea Scout Pack at Tynemouth Haven. See when and where they meet.
Children can join from 7½ and usually move up to Scouts between 10 and 11.
